Official sources and date status
Recorded confirmation and independent source review are shown separately. An institution-specific notice does not establish closure for every employer or school.

Office arrangements
Government bodies begin their statutory Eid leave on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah. Private Labour Law grants three Eid al-Adha working days without separately naming Arafat Day.
Bank arrangements
Financial-market and bank closures require their own annual notices rather than automatic assumptions from the ministry schedule.
School arrangements
Education calendars normally incorporate the Eid interval, but institutions publish exact closing and reopening dates.
History
The day corresponds to the central Hajj gathering at the Plain of Arafat. Muslims not performing Hajj may fast voluntarily.
Why it matters
Its significance comes from Hajj and prayer, while its employment effect depends on whether government or private-sector rules apply.
Observance
Pilgrims gather at Arafat; in Qatar, worship and preparation for Eid predominate. The following day begins Eid al-Adha.
Travel and planning
Lunar timing may move by a day. Do not rely on an Eid al-Adha date as though it were Arafat Day.
