Canada does not have one employment-standards holiday list that applies uniformly to every worker. The Canada Labour Code governs federally regulated workplaces, while provincial and territorial legislation governs most other employment. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Remembrance Day and Boxing Day demonstrate why jurisdiction matters: each is covered differently across Canada. A holiday appearing in a federal calendar does not automatically create provincial employment-standard entitlement.
