Coverage

Only 1 August is federally established as a public holiday throughout Switzerland. Other employment holidays follow cantonal law. Select a canton for Good Friday, Easter Monday, Pentecost Monday, Corpus Christi and other applicable dates. The SECO employment-holiday matrix is used rather than court closure lists. Municipal and district exceptions in Aargau, Fribourg, Neuchâtel and Solothurn are labelled local. Solothurn's 1 May entry is an afternoon closure, not a full day.
