Eid al-Adha is the Festival of Sacrifice and begins on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah. Its UAE holiday period follows Arafat Day. This guide retains the first-day observance and the continuation dates within one Eid identity, while Arafat remains a separate primary guide. Select a year to see the appropriate dates and status.
Bank, office and school arrangements require the applicable authority or institution notice. Missing scope data does not mean open.

Next listed holiday day on or after today; this can be a closure day rather than the festival date.
Recorded confirmation and independent source review are shown separately. An institution-specific notice does not establish closure for every employer or school.

Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2024: recurring holiday framework
Pending Review · Scope: public
Recurring dates and durations; future lunar projections need annual confirmation. Full document retrieval returned 403 in this continuation; indexed official schedule corroborates the saved framework.
The UAE Fatwa Council confirmed 27 May as the first Eid day in 2026. The framework's three Eid dates are 27-29 May, following Arafat on 26 May. FAHR's separate 25-29 May notice adds a federal-only closure. That 25 May entry is excluded from the general public-holiday count and export.
Use the bank's Eid notice for staffed services, settlement and reopening. A consecutive break in a planner does not prove every financial institution follows that span. If a deadline crosses the holiday, confirm the required processing date with the provider.
School breaks may include weekdays beyond the public Arafat and Eid dates. Check the academic calendar for attendance and return dates, and keep vacation days separate from festival dates. A public holiday is not a universal statement about every institution's timetable.
The festival recalls the story of Ibrahim and is associated with sacrifice, devotion and generosity. It occurs during the Hajj season but is observed beyond the pilgrimage itself. The first day has a specific lunar identity; extra workplace closures do not move that religious anniversary or create additional festivals.
Family connection and support for others give the occasion meaning beyond a break from work. Several stored dates may describe one festival period: counting calendar entries helps staffing, while counting holiday identities answers a different question. This guide keeps both the first observance and the surrounding closure days visible.
Eid prayers, family gatherings and charitable sharing are important aspects of the occasion. For sacrifice arrangements, use the relevant local authority's approved services and current guidance. The calendar explains dates and scope; it does not authorise a particular activity or replace municipal instructions.
Distinguish the first day of Eid from the first day an employer closes. Future projections can change, and a longer federal break in one year must not be applied to another without evidence. Confirm the annual notice, transport arrangements and leave approval before committing.
The framework lists 10-12 Dhu al-Hijjah, with Arafat separately on the ninth.
They belong to the same festival period, rather than separate religious concepts.
