Public holiday information

For 2026, Eid begins on 20 March and 27 May, with Arafat on 26 May. The Hijri New Year closure is 15 June and the Mawlid closure is 28 August. The earlier lunar projections remain visible as unconfirmed observances only. The additional 25 May federal closure is excluded from the general calendar.

Offices

Separate the recurring public calendar from sector-specific notices. Federal-only extra days do not establish a private-sector closure. Confirm essential-service rosters with the employer; a missing office flag is not evidence that an office is open.

Banks

Obtain branch hours and settlement cut-offs from the bank. Public dates, digital access and transaction completion are separate questions. No universal bank schedule is inferred from this calendar.

Schools

School vacations and reopening dates come from the applicable academic calendar. Public holidays can overlap a term break without establishing its full length. Confirm attendance with the institution.

Is Commemoration Day included in the public total?

No. Its 30 November observance is separate from a general day off.

Does a weekend holiday create a substitute day?

No substitute day is added without an applicable announcement.

Are federal extra closures universal?

No. A federal notice establishes its own scope, not every private-sector or institutional schedule.
