Using this calendar

The UAE public-holiday calendar for 2028 separates named occasions, individual days off and lunar estimates. Select a guide for its observance and closure roles. Commemoration Day on 30 November is an observance only and is not included in the public total or download.

Official sources and date status

Recorded confirmation and independent source review are shown separately. An institution-specific notice does not establish closure for every employer or school.

Public holiday information

In 2028, 1 January and 2-3 December fall on the Saturday/Sunday weekend. No substitute weekday is inferred. Lunar dates remain estimates, including the Eid periods; a different workweek changes the planning comparison, not the official status.

Offices

Separate the recurring public calendar from sector-specific notices. Federal-only extra days do not establish a private-sector closure. Confirm essential-service rosters with the employer; a missing office flag is not evidence that an office is open.

Banks

Obtain branch hours and settlement cut-offs from the bank. Public dates, digital access and transaction completion are separate questions. No universal bank schedule is inferred from this calendar.

Schools

School vacations and reopening dates come from the applicable academic calendar. Public holidays can overlap a term break without establishing its full length. Confirm attendance with the institution.

Practical planning

Choose the weekend pattern that matches your schedule. Long-weekend blocks include only public dates and the selected weekend; any personal leave is additional. PDF and ICS downloads retain the supported calendar and its date status. Estimated entries remain subject to change.

Frequently asked questions

Are all 2028 dates final?

Fixed dates and confirmed annual notices are distinguished from lunar projections. Read each entry's status and evidence.

Is Commemoration Day included in the public total?

No. Its 30 November observance is separate from a general day off.

Does a weekend holiday create a substitute day?

No substitute day is added without an applicable announcement.

Are federal extra closures universal?

No. A federal notice establishes its own scope, not every private-sector or institutional schedule.
