History
World Tuberculosis Day was established in 1982 by World Health Organization through WHO and IUATLD campaign. The first observance recorded by the establishing programme was in 1983. The official source remains the reference point for changes to the date, designation or annual campaign. The date is stored independently from country calendars so a global observance is never mistaken for a legal closure.
